To the Gnostics, if you know nothing beyond being a mortal human, it is inevitable that you will continually die and be reborn in the physical world, bound to the Wheel of Fate. If you remember that you are a divine invincible immortal soul, there is no death, only a shift in residence to other dimensions of Reality, and a continuity of consciousness that advances us to higher and greater states of being. As we’ve learned, the Gnostics called the Kingdom of Heaven the Pleroma, where we live in the fullness of being both human and divine. The Kingdom of Heaven is a state of consciousness we can only access when matter and Spirit unite. This divine Kingdom is the blessed nature of Spirit in all things — the state of being all spiritual seekers pursue. It’s the Hindu cosmic Akasha of the Upanishads, and the risen Kundalini force in Tantric yoga. And in the Islamic Tradition, the term Moksha means attaining freedom from the temporal world of suffering and death. All religions have some idea of an eternal state of being.
