I stand in incredulous awe of the large number of professing Christians who gobble up personal prophecies from every kind of so-called prophet who makes a living forecasting success, wealth, prosperity, and a candy store full of miracles – – – BUT… those same people won’t listen for five minutes to anyone who teaches the prophecies of the Bible pertaining to the last days. They get up and walk out on any preacher or teacher who brings up the prophecies pertaining to the last days. I will tell you now; every prophecy in the Bible will absolutely come to pass with unfailing accuracy while an enormous lot of these dime-store personal prophecies are not worth the time it took to listen to them.
I believe in and have often operated in the nine gifts of the Spirit taught in the New Testament (and listed in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11). But we now have a full-blown industry of wanna-be-prophets who do NOT have the gifts of the Spirit, but a vivid imagination and magic circus mentality. They don’t know a thimble full of scriptures, and could not preach their way out of a wet paper sack. That is not the work of God. Those are evil and deceptive spirits at work.
If you purport to believe in the power of prophecy, why don’t you listen to everything the Bible prophesies about the days we are living in? These ARE THE LAST DAYS, and God has been prophesying to ALL of us for centuries in great detail. But almost nobody is listening.

You will learn INFINITELY MORE from sound teaching about the prophecies of the Bible than you will ever learn while listening to somebody tell you that you are going to get a check in the mail or that you have a wart behind your ear that is going to vanish.
I am not condemning those who genuinely have and operate in the gifts of the Spirit. I am a Pentecostal, and I believe in and strongly desire a manifestation of supernatural ministry. But I am condemning the circus mentality that has invaded modern Christianity, and the magic show that it has become. I am condemning the fickle public for feeding and financing the kind of “ministry” that utterly neglects the weightier matters of the Bible such as true doctrines and holy living. Almighty God Himself has ordained for us to hear and know and understand everything in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

Jesus said, “An evil and adulterous generation seek a sign.” Sign-seekers are misguided. “These signs shall FOLLOW them that believe.” Signs are not supposed to LEAD us. People who FOLLOW signs are going in the wrong direction. Miracles are supposed to be a natural, daily outgrowth of a ministry that is fully preaching and practicing the whole counsel of God.
May God give us PREACHERS and TEACHERS who can preach and teach the endless and infinite truths of the Bible, and whose “prophecy” ministry begins with a mature understanding of the major prophecies of the Bible, not an obsession with impertinent “prophecies” that have little or no eternal consequence.
