In our contemporary world, lies have become ubiquitous, weaving its intricate web through every aspect of life. Lies from the government, lies from the media, from academia, Big Pharma, the elite, the cult of global warming, the radical left agenda – it’s coming at us from every conceivable source. Its pervasiveness is more prevalent now than ever before because of the emergence of the internet and smartphones, which no other generation has experienced.
We acknowledge that every lie originates from Satan. As Jesus stated, “He does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44).
And believe it or not, it’s going to get worse! After the rapture of the Church, Paul forewarns in 2 Thessalonians 2:11, “God sends upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false.” If we think it’s challenging now, the future holds a level of deception that is truly unimaginable.
What actions can we take to combat the full-blown assault of lies that grows stronger every day? We must know and be committed to the truth. What is the truth? “Thy word is truth” (John 17:17).
“You are God, and Your words are truth” (2Sa 7:28).
“All Your commandments are truth” (Psa 119:151).
“The sum of Your word is truth” (Psa 119:160).
We must be men and women of God’s Word, studying it, learning it, and saturating ourselves with it as much as possible. We do this not only to know the God of the Word and His solitary truth, but to warn others of the deceptions that surround us, namely that they are not okay with God and they must be saved.
May God help us to be disciplined in His Word!
