After the ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven, the Early Church grew mightily inspite of the persecutions by the Romans. The only way to destroy the growth & progress of the Early Church was for the Romans to infiltrate them & destroy them SYSTEMATICALLY from within.
Emperor Constantine became a Christian in 312 AD (for the purpose of infiltration), so the Romans can merge their wicked, pagan belief system with the authentic apostolic doctrines to tarnish it and make it ineffective.
The beliefs of the Babylonians, Greeks, Egyptians, Eastern cultures and Romans infiltrated much of Christianity as the Roman government merged with Christianity after 312 AD. At the heart of this infiltration was gnosticism.
Gnosticism means salvation through knowledge whereas Christianity means salvation through Christ. Gnosticism refers to various Christian sects that claimed direct personal knowledge beyond the Gospel or the Church hierarchy. Gnosticism flourished in the 1st century AD among Jewish and Christian sects. Gnosticism is the belief that human beings contain a piece of God within themselves which has fallen from the immaterial world into the bodies of humans.
