Every religion has its form of worship. Christianity has an enormous variety of forms of worship. Worship alone does not put anyone in right standing with God. The Gospel is a full-spectrum preaching and teaching of everything in the Bible. No single doctrine makes up the Gospel. The overall message of the Bible is the Gospel. We must preach, teach, and obey the whole Gospel. That is our solemn responsibility before God. Consistent and thorough Genesis-to-Revelation truths must be applied to our lives daily. That constitutes “obeying the Gospel.”
2Th 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
1Pe 4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
False doctrines like “eternal security ,” “unconditional love,” easy-believism hyper-grace, “antinomianism” (against laws), and more are metastasizing in Pentecostal environments.
If preachers won’t reject and oppose these fallacies, the Church will continue to be compromised and ultimately subverted. Deceit, deceivers, and deception were major themes in the prophetic warnings of Jesus Christ and all the Apostles. Yet in modern times, there is gross denial that these heresies and deceptions are among us. But they are.
We may never rid our pulpits of heresies, but we can rid our hearts of them by a radical devotion to the Word of God, and an unflinching love for Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth.
Start with the Oneness of God, add the absolute essentiality of Acts 2:38, and holiness without which no man shall see God. Enlarge and expand from there, until you get mastery of the entire Word of God.
