I have been a Mystic of no religion for awhile but I grew up in Christianity so Jesus was most familiar and I’m probably closer to the Christian Mystic but my beliefs have changed according to what God showed me in my Mystical Experiences. For one, I don’t think Jesus was a savior as I was taught. In my Dark Night of the Soul, Jesus taught me, if you helped a butterfly out of it cocoon, thus saving it, its wings would remain shriveled and it would die.
It is the struggle the butterfly goes through to get out of its cocoon that makes its wings strong enough to fly, Jesus showed me. So I believe no one saves us but ourselves and the struggle is there to help us grow strong enough to “fly”, so to speak. What do Christian Mystica believe? I am looked at badly by Christians believing Jesus was not our savior but rather his path was showing us how to liberate ourselves, not save ourselves.
In the original Bible it never mentioned the word savior, the word that was used was liberated instead of saved but as time went on the church changed it in its translations to saved instead of liberated. I was show that we pick up our cross and carry it and we too will experience the resurrection. I’ve had many “deaths” in my life with many resurrections.
So do Christian Mystics believe Jesus saved us or do we lay our ego to dissolve on the cross, thus liberating ourselves?
