This post is both for those of us who labor in the ministry and all the people out there enjoying our content.

I’m just a rookie in all this, haven’t had an account with more than 10k followers, but all of us go through similar things in this industry. We experience massive amounts of judgment, burnout, creative constipation, and constant self criticism. We are definitely our own worst critic, getting caught up in comparison to yesteryear.

We learn quick to ignore the noise coming from haters while embracing the compliments being showered on us by fans, but are all too aware that many of our fans will forget about us the moment they find that new crush. All of this is just the tip of the iceberg! I used to receive daily hate mail from Christians, being called every name in the book and being told things like I should kill myself or that god himself was going to strike me down. And in the midst of all of this we are expected to put a smile on our face, continuing to pump out content, and respond to every message.

This is why it is so important for every entertainer and content creator to have a balanced life, and establish a meditation practice. Don’t let another day go by without taking at least 15 minutes a day to journal, meditate, do affirmations, etc. Take time away from your phone, the world will still be there when you return to it. Get out in nature as much as possible and do some grounding (look it up if you don’t know what this is). We are all so much more than our online presence! We are so much more than the pics and reels being presented on social media. We are definitely so much more than hate filled lies being spread about us on the internet. Find yourself and embrace the perpetual evolution of being.
