Let me summarize what I had written. So we see a lot of sevens in wisdom texts. There is the Hindu Naga serpent with seven heads, the Seven Chakras, the seven archangels, seven heavens, the seven lower sefiroth of kabbalah, the seven steps for making the philosophers stone in alchemy, the seven days of Creation, the seven days of the week. The book of revelation in the bible is full of sevens, seven churches, seven eyes of the Lamb, seven bowls, seven trumpets, seven seals, seven spirits before God’s throne and the seven year tribulation.

What is the significance behind all these sevens? On the tree of Life, the first triad reside in spiritual realm beyond Creation. Creation begins at Chesed to Malkuth. The first day is Chesed and the last is Malkuth. As I have said before, creation happens through lowering of vibration so from Chesed to Malkuth, vibration is lowered from high to low and spirit becomes hidden behind the layers and seals of physicality. In the beginning Spirit was all there was but after the sevenfold Creation, Spirit got hidden behind the Seven seals and it is up to the mystic seeker to remove these seals in order to return or reveal spirit. These seals are the seven chakras which we must open and the path of the Kundalini so that it can rise above the manifested sevenfold universe and reconnect with Spirit. So he who sits above the Seven has removed the seals and become a master of All and the person who has opened all their chakras is the enlightened person who has removed the seals of the sevenfold universe and awakened the divinity within.

The mind who is God, being androgyne and existing as life and light, by speaking gave birth to a second mind, the Logos, who, as god of fire and air, crafted SEVEN governors; they encompass the sensible world in circles, and their government is called fate.

Thus preached Hermes: “O people of the earth, men born and made of the elements, but with the spirit of the Divine Man within you, rise from your sleep of ignorance! Be sober and thoughtful. Realize that your home is not in the earth but in the Light. Why have you delivered yourselves over unto death, having power to partake of immortality? Repent, and change your minds. Depart from the dark light and forsake corruption forever. Prepare yourselves to climb through the SEVEN Rings and to blend your souls with the eternal Light.”

So Poimandres resumed: “At death the material body of man is returned to the elements from which it came, and the invisible divine man ascends to the source from whence he came, namely the Eighth Sphere. The evil passes to the dwelling place of the demon, and the senses, feelings, desires, and body passions return to their source, namely the SEVEN Governors, whose natures in the lower man destroy but in the invisible spiritual man give life.”

Take thee, O man! As part of thy being, the Seven who are but are not as they seem. Opened, O man! Have I my wisdom. Follow the path in the way I have led.
